Core Advantages
One-Click Translation for Effortless Foreign Videos
YouTube Translator is an online browser extension that stands out from traditional subtitle plugins. Instead of just translating subtitles, it directly plays the dubbed audio. With one click of the play button, you can translate and listen to foreign-language videos without constantly reading subtitles—significantly boosting your viewing efficiency.
Multiple Languages, Platforms, and Sites
Full Compatibility: Multi-Language & Multi-Site Support
Choose a translation model offered for your account and a voice for your target language. Current instructions cover the desktop Chrome extension. Other browser and phone compatibility is being validated; a YouTube Translator Safari/iOS app is not currently offered. Website translation needs access to the video and subtitles. Protected or embedded players can prevent translation.
Rich Voices & Advanced Features
Flexible Voice Switching with Extra Functionality
Choose from the voices offered for your target language. Background-audio and speaker controls require separately prepared data and eligible account access; they do not by themselves separate music or identify speakers. Text reading lets you listen to selected passages on a webpage. Check the controls available for the current video before relying on a particular feature.
AI Subtitles & Membership Value
AI Subtitles: More Accuracy, More Convenience
Subtitle colors identify their source: automatic platform captions, publisher captions, or AI-processed subtitles. Choose a track, inspect its text and timing in the editor, and display translated captions while watching. Account access determines which processing options are available. Purchases, paid Azure voices and credit top-ups are not connected in this release.
Universal Dubbing
Dub when subtitles exist; recognize them when they don't
The extension looks for available subtitle tracks. For videos without captions, file recognition requires an uploaded file and an eligible account. Recognition jobs can request a completion email. Processing and email delivery depend on the configured services; an upload does not guarantee recognition quality or a completion time.
All-Site Summaries
Every supported site can summarize subtitles
Any site supported for dubbing can generate subtitle summaries, helping you quickly catch key points while learning, watching, or researching beyond YouTube.
Subtitle Editor
Translate and dub from your own version
Edit existing subtitles and save a personal version, then use it for translation and dubbing so terms, names, and phrasing match your needs.
FAQ

What are optimized subtitles?
Automatic captions can contain wrong words, missing punctuation or inaccurate timing. Publisher captions and AI-processed tracks can provide a better starting point, but should still be reviewed. The source indicator distinguishes red automatic platform captions, yellow publisher captions and green AI-processed subtitles. Check important names and timing in the subtitle editor.
How are subtitles optimized?
Use an available processed subtitle track, edit a track yourself, or submit an eligible file for recognition. Uploaded-file recognition can request a completion email. This differs from automatic optimization based on viewing history; that workflow is not offered by the current video controls.
Are there any limitations on subtitle optimization?
Uploaded-file recognition accepts eligible audio or video up to three hours and requires account access. Website playback and subtitle access are separate requirements: private, protected, paywalled or embedded videos may be unavailable to the extension. These upload limits do not promise automatic optimization of a video from its website URL.
How fast is the subtitle optimization?
Recognition time depends on file duration, processing load and the speech service. Follow the job status after uploading. No fixed processing speed or completion time is promised; an email, when enabled, is a notification rather than a progress indicator.
What's the difference between free and paid users?
The free mode has a daily video limit and uses the free translation and voice options. Additional features depend on the access enabled for your account. Background-audio and speaker tools also require the appropriate prepared data. Paid Azure voices, credit top-ups and checkout are not configured in this release; a displayed plan does not mean that it can currently be purchased.
Any limitations on AI translation?
Check the source captions, target language and models available for your account. Automatic captions can need correction before translation; publisher and AI-processed tracks can still contain errors. The source color identifies the track rather than guaranteeing translation quality. Review or replace a track in the subtitle editor when necessary.
